This past September we arrived in Germany. It is beautiful and green and the people here are super friendly. It has taken some time to adjust to this new way of life where things aren't open 24/7, like they were in Las Vegas. Things close here early and for lunch and they don't even open on Sundays except if it is in a touristy location. The food is delicious and the language is hard but I am trying to learn. :) Right now though it is winter-time and I haven't lived in a wintery place in a really really long time. Driving is bad enough for me, but to put in the element of rain, snow and ice...of Good Lord, help me! I have been popping Tums like they are Tic-Tacs because my stomach gets so sick thinking about driving in this weather. I gauge my events of the day on what the weather is like. If it is snowing, I am most likely going to be staying in and cleaning. If I wake up and there is no snow, I am getting the hell out of the house. Other than the weather, I love Germany, well except for the fact the husband (the one who wanted to come here so bad) is back in the United States. Thanks, husband's job! :-P

Gracie Lou Freebush

I have a cat named Gracie, I have had her since she was a kitten back in July of 2002. She is my "baby-girl", she sleeps with me and in the morning we have "cuddle-time", which is her purring and rubbing against my head. Gracie is so cute, with big green eyes and a curly-que of a tail. She is a sweetie, but very skittish and shy. She also does not travel well, she will howl and sound like she is being skinned alive everytime she gets put in her carrier. She has been from Las Vegas to Phoenix and then back to Vegas. Then while in Vegas, from house to apartment and back to house again.

Well come the end of August-beginning of September, we are moving to Germany for three years (thanks to the military!). I know that Gracie would never be able to handle that move, without severly altering her personality and mental stability. So my bestest sister, Wendy, is offering to take her for me while we are overseas. She already has two cats but Gracie has been around them and they all get along fine. She also lives in Phoenix but Gracie has already taken that trip and will do fine. Hopefully, when we get back to the States, I can pick up where I left off and get my "baby-girl" back, but we will see how that turns out.

I know Lorelei and I will miss her, Jess on the other hand is probably doing a little jig. :)~ I would like to think she will miss me too but I do know for certain she won't miss Jess or Lorelei, because they both annoy and bug her to no end. She will walk on her tippy-toes 75 percent of the time she is on her feet, the other 25 percent is flat foot because she is running. At her 2 year check up, her pediatrician recommended seeing a Physical Therapist. We finally found one that takes children (after 2 weeks of looking and calling around!). The therapists than suggested that Lorelei needs feet/leg braces. She than leads us to another specialist in the same building and he tells me that Lorelei is a habitual toe walker. Ha! How about habitual line crosser, but that is a whole other story. He tells me about these feet/leg braces called AFOs and long story short, we finally get approved through our insurance to get these braces. We had to have Lorelei specially fitted for them and 4 weeks later, ta da!, they are back in. Yesterday, we went to get them fitted again, to make sure everything is perfect. There were a few tears and pouting but she finally got them on and now will have to wear them for around 6 months, give or take. Depends on how fast she breaks her toe walking habit.

After that was her PT session, which I think is a waste of time, but I'm not paying for it (Thanks to my insurance!) so who cares, huh? It is a 30 minute session of Lorelei running around, doing what ever she wants to do and playing with all kinds of new toys. There is no real therapy going on that I see, but heck, who am I to know. She has therapy every Tuesday but once Jess gets back, it is going to be every other Tuesday, maybe even less, who knows. It is just a long day on Tuesday because we have to drive all the way across town and it's not fun, for me atleast, Lorelei loves it. Of course, with so much excitement in one day, one does get tired and gets to fall asleep in the backseat.

April 11, 2008

So I don't know what I am doing but I figured I would do it anyways. She is a crazy, beautiful handful and we love her so much.

It is April and I can't believe how fast this past couple of months and last year went by. Many things have happened and those things have kept me busy. Jess has been gone for almost a year now due to work and will be returning in May. I am excited about that, so is Lorelei, she asks about everyday.

To keep myself busy (and sane) I have been taking a few classes at the community college on floral design. I love love love it, it is so much fun! I took the Intro class last semester and this semester I am taking the Tributes/Funerals class and the Techniques/Mechanics class.

So for now, I will get going until next time! Enjoy and thank you! :)
